Q: Family Sharing with the "ask to buy" feature.
Good Day - I set up the Family Sharing feature on my IPhone with me as the Organizer and added my son so that he could purchase games, apps etc...on his IPod. In addition, I set up the "Ask to Buy" feature. My issue or question is: I do not receive notifications or alerts when my son buys games or apps. Since setting up the Family Sharing , I think I have seen 1 or 2 notifications and that this would only appear his IPOD and not on my phone. I thought as the parent I would receive these alerts and not my son. Furthermore , perhaps you can explain to me , as to why I cannot simply remove my son from the family sharing plan, should I feel that it is not working for us. I note that I can only transfer over to another user.
Part two of my inquiry , I wish to remove my credit information from my profile. So far, I am not able to do so. Please advise.
With Kind Regards,

Your son is using his own account on his iPod, and that is the account that you have 'ask to buy' enabled on ? Have you tried turning it 'off' and back 'on' ?
Child accounts (under 13s) can only exist as part of family sharing - if his is a child account and you want to disband the family you will either have to transfer his account to another family, or get his account (and therefore his purchases) deleted : Leave Family Sharing - Apple Support
Children under 13 can't be removed from a family. If you need to, you can transfer the child to another family or delete their Apple ID.
Whilst you are a family organiser in family sharing you have to have a valid payment method on your account as you are taking responsilbity for the family's purchases - payment methods that an organiser can use : Payment methods you can use in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store - Apple Support
If you're using Family Sharing and you're the family organizer, you can use the following payment methods:
- Credit cards
- Debit cards
- China UnionPay
- Mobile phone billing
