Mar 18, 2016 3:04 PM in response to Chengtai2by bfallona,Thanks after installing, uninstalling , and looking for the driver your fix worked great. So simple and so quick. I knew that that the driver for my ipod shouldn't be from Microsoft.

Mar 28, 2016 2:06 PM in response to Chengtai2by st-ivan,thanks man.. this worked..
In the beggnining i wasnt going to try it because i couldnt find the Apple Driver under USB devices. Then i looked under Portable devices > apple iphone > right click > browse driver > point it to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers ( a bit different than yours) and voila!
I am able to use itools again

Apr 5, 2016 5:10 PM in response to Chengtai2by MaximusALVR,
I've been searching for an answer for two days, this was driving me crazy. I installed iTunes on my work laptop so I knew it wasn't the iPad or iPhone. Thanks for the post. -
Apr 6, 2016 1:49 AM in response to Chengtai2by Whisky1971,Worked a treat but did get this error: "iTunes could not connect to this [device] because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000001)."
Just followed this If you see a '0xE' error when you connect your iOS device to a PC - Apple Support
Thank you.

Apr 6, 2016 2:34 PM in response to Chengtai2by carolynfromglenburn,Thanks Chengtai. I used this advice with a Windows 10 machine. It's not exactly easy navigating to the correct subfolder to get the driver but you just keep clicking. My PC came with Windows 10 so this was not an installation problem. Suddenly Itunes simply didn't have my phone icon so I couldn't update it via the USB.

Apr 8, 2016 10:54 PM in response to Ebnfloby Calamari55,So I've tried all the suggestions here ... and I still get the "windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date" message and it shows me "WPD FileSystem Volume Driver." That certainly doesn't appear to be an Apple driver. Any ideas what I can do? I've installed and uninstalled iTunes so many times tonight ...

Apr 9, 2016 7:33 AM in response to Calamari55by Calamari55,Followed the instructions again this morning to locate the correct driver. It was there; so I uninstalled iTunes and downloaded it again. Reinstalled and it works like a charm. Thanks for the discussions on the site.
