Q: Migrate SSD to another MBP - App Store issue now
Hi there,
Scenario: first MBP 13" early 2011, second MBP 13" mid 2012.
I had a little accident with a glass of orange juice and the 2011 MBP right next to it. Say no more, that's a classic. I could at least get the SSD out unscathed.
Anyway I got my hands on basically the same MBP model. It's just over a year more recent. As I want to use the 500 GB SSD with El Capitan and bootcamped Win10 from the MBP 2011 as is I just swapped it with the HD in the MBP 2012.
So far so good. It dual boots flawlessly and everything seems to be working except the App store. I checked everything suggested for the "cannot connect to the App store" issue but none of them worked, time settings, Keychain, terminal hacks etc etc. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that the SSD still carries the hardware information of the MBP 2011 somewhere and now that it runs on a (very slightly) different model I'm blocked out of the App Store. I'm of course the legal owner of both MBPs.
I'd be most grateful for any hint how to circumvent this, even with a terminal hack. I have no time to reinstall everything. I need the SSD to remain the main system drive hence a time machine migration is no option.
Cheers
Logic Pro X, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Thanks for your help fellows. You can have a laugh now. The problem was a rule in Little Snitch. I didn't realise I had blocked the connection to storeaccountd. I'm a bit paranoid sometimes...
