Q: iCloud pdf sharing

The Read Me for the latest iOS and MacOS updates promised that iBooks would now share .pdfs.

I wish!

I have a significant number of .pdfs that I cannot share between my iPad and my Mac and my iPhone, and it is a pain! Other apps like Scribd include seamless sharing and update notes among multiple devices. Using Kindle is a lovely experience. But pdfs are still not shared in iBooks between iDevices, and my notes are not propagated.

Please get busy!

Thank you!

Have you setup iCloud Drive to enable sharing of your PDFs?

    That is not the problem.

Any file can be shared between devices using iCloud. I can share PDFs on my Mac and my iPad using iCloud. It works just fine.

What I cannot do is use *iBooks* to share. PDFs in my iBooks library on my Mac are not available in iBooks on my iPad.

I should have a shared iBooks library that is available from both devices. I should be able to read a PDF file in iBooks on my Mac then open up iBooks on my iPad and resume reading in the same spot. I should be able to highlight and make notes and see those same highlights and notes on the PDF in both apps and on both devices.

Kindle offers this functionality. So does Scribd.

I am seeing all my PDFs from the Mac iBooks library on my iPad and iPhone as well after the iOS 9.3.1 update, e5steban.   But you need to enable iBooks in the iCloud Drive settings as described in the link that javaliga posted.

And enable iCloud for iBooks when prompted after you first open iBooks after the update. That made all the PDFs appear in iBooks after the update.
