Have you connected the Apple TV to the new router?  You will need to make sure the Apple TV is connected to the wifi network that the new router is broadcasting...

If you are hooked up via ethernet, I would simply try a restart from the Apple TV.

Use your Apple Remote with your Apple TV - Apple Support

Do a menu down for 6 sec.

    Hi Protodd

I am not too tech savvy but I am in the basement of the house and the people upstairs had to replace their router which I gather is the main one and affected my wifi, I do have one here as well.  I don't recall having to input any codes from this router to Apple TV when I first bought it, but on the Network settings it says Router N/A does this mean im not connected.  The only screen I get is Home Sharing and Settings.  It continues to ask me to sign into Home Sharing via computer which is on.

    Thanks

    Wendy

That's correct. The router will broadcast an SSID name and then you would need to select the appropriate wifi to connect to - I see 32 networks when I look At my house. Then depending on how the network is setup, you would possibly (hopefully) require a password in order to connect your device to that network.  the other option is to connect the ATV via Ethernet cable direct to the router...

Ok thats ringing a bell.  I am thinking that when the Bell Canada technician guy came to check our connections for internet and they were fine, but it ended up being the router (seperate company) that he may have disconnected the line thats on the wall by my tv.  I am getting no options to log in anywhere.

DO you know the wifi credentials from Bell? This should be an SSID name and password.

on the Apple TV go to settings>general>network>wifi. This will bring up all of the wifi networks that the ATV can "see". If you live in a densely populated area there could be hundreds listed...

then you scroll through that list until you find the network name that matches. And it should prompt you for a password in order to connect.

Yes I have all the sign in stuff.  I don't get any options at all for signing in.  When I go to settings General/Network it gives me the following

    Ethernet

Test Network (which then asks me to sign in to Itunes which I have done but says can't connect)

    IP address (#s)

    Sub Net (#'S)

Router which before said n/a ( but I manually put in from the back of my router)

DNS (picked up the router numbers) which prior said n/a

    Ethernet address (bunch of #s)

I have d/c everything a zillion times including the router.  So I think this is where that particular Bell line has been cut maybe

i would definitely recommend a restart.  Anytime there is any issue, I would suggest doing a restart of the device.

are you saying you don't see the "wifi" option in the list under network? Do you normally just connect via hardwire ethernet?  wifi will require a login but the ethernet won't.  Ethernet should just connect right up after plugging it in (assuming its wired correctly).

I have done restarts tons of times of both box and router,  would a RESET make a difference.   I am assuming its ethernet hardwire as I did have to sign in initially with my computer ages ago but don't now as it remembers password etc.  But I find it confusing when I have a router and wires etc etc lol.  too me thats hardwired.  I am trying to get a hold of my landlord.  To clarify

Look at the back of your ATV.  You should see a power cord to the wall, an HDMI cord to the TV, and a third cord (if connected via ethernet) that is connected to the router.  What do you see?

What wires on the ATV do you have connected?

hdmi would be connected to TV

power cable would go to the wall Jack

ethernet cable would be connected to either a router or a wall port. Do you have a laptop you can test that port with?  If you can test the connection of the port that may prove your earlier thought that the Bell tech didn't connect it when replacing.  do you have access to the router?  Are there any cables loose?

Hi I have wall port but I do have a router in another room for my computer. Don't have lap top but I will borrow my sons to check it before calling in techy's

All cables are connected that's first line of defense lol

Does the computer in the other room connect to Internet via a similar wall port? Or is it wifi? Is the internet working on that other computer?  Do you have a tv in the room with your computer?  You could take the ATV to the other room to test to help isolate if it's the wall port or the device....
