Q: Faces in the Photo App
I spent a lot of time tagging faces to photos on my Mac when the Photos app first came out. I need to get a new computer and found out that I will have to do the whole thing over again. I have thousands of photos! Is there a workaround?

That will depend on how you transfer the Photos Library to the new computer. Migrate your documents and data from your current Mac to the new Mac using the Setup Assistent when you first launch the new Mac, and connect the old Mac or a Time Machine backup to the new Mac. Then the Photos Library will be migrated as it is together with all your other documents and data, all faces will be tagged, when you launch Photos on your new mac.
The Faces will only be missing, if you are using iCloud Photo Library and you download the photos from iCloud Photo Library to your new Mac and not from a backup. But in that case only the named faces thumbnails will be missing. All photos will have searchable faces names, so labeling them again will be much faster and easier.
