All these posts about iPhone freezing up makes me nervous about activating my new iiPhone 6s. Do you know if a new phone will automatically have the iOS versions that is causing all the problems? Turning on my new phone will remove my only existing phone number. I would be in trouble if my iiPhone 6s doesn't work, and I have no other options.

I have no clue, RRR - risk vs. reward... are you near an Apple Store? If so, make a reservation > Genius Bar - Apple Store < and do it on the spot!

No, not near a store and no way to get to one. RRR

I have the same screen got frozen before the update. I had to restore my iphone 6 128GB back to factory setting and the issue has resolved. however, after the latest update ios 9.3.1 the freezing screen has returned and the keyboard each time  using iMessage or any other chatting apps freeze constantly. I am really fed up with this issue and is considering changing to android now. LOL

anyway, I will try to contact apple for a check up and finger crossed they will be able to help.

I have the same issues. Never had a problem before updating to 9.3, once I updated to 9.3 it started to freeze here and there but not as bad. Once I updated to 9.3.1 my iphone 6 plus has become unusable. It freezes on every notification. I can't answer phone calls because the screen just freezes.

I've done resetting, restoring, and even contacted support. I've tried restoring the way apple support suggested, and it got worse. Now it freezes along with a little white bar at the top that flickers. It goes away after a minute but the phone is frozen.

I will go to verizon tomorrow and see what their recommendation is after that i will walk next door to apple. It's going to be fun!

I have managed to book an appointment with apple for wednesday 13th because that's the only time I can take off work to bring the handset to them.

honestly I think it is a hardware problem because the other 3 iPads that I have didn't have any issue with them at all. and of course because the iPhone 6 handset is out of support coverage I am not sure they will be able to swap it for me or not.

anyway, hope all will be working out for you tomorrow. Please keep us update with the outcome. Much appreciate.

    Morning from here is SA

I have had the same problem for more than two weeks now. After the frozen / unresponsive screen, my phone opened apps and photos by itself - I actually took a video of it - scary!!

I went to the Apple store in Sandton, Johannesburg and they had no clue about the problem. Did some random checks and said I should give it in for repairs at my service provider

Well, after just over a week, I got my phone back last night. After restoring the backup, this morning I am experiencing exactly the same problems....

But now, reading all your comments, I do not feel alone anymore. Just wish they can sort it out ASAP!!

    Same is here

IPhone 6 64 GB- I have upgraded yesterday to IOS 9.3.1. the process was smooth. but after that. the phone become slower. sometimes it become unresponsive,it has restarted couple of times without any reasons, some applications crashes. all of that wasn't there before this upgrade.

we should not go with updates as long as our device is good with me.even if it fix any bug that I don't use

    ...

Some iPhone 6/6s and iPhone 6/6s Plus users who have updated to iOS 9.3.1 reported that they are experiencing serious battery drain and their device getting unusually hot. In some extreme cases, users were noticing the battery percentage indicator dropping in a real-time manner.

Based on the input of some software developers, upon iOS 9.3.1 update completion, the iPhone 6/6s will perform “some intensive CPU activity” likely related to iOS cleanup, Spotlight and automatic updates. This could be one of the reasons why it’s using so much battery and when the CPU load is high, it will make the device warmer.

Alright, now that you know some of the reasons why your iPhone 6/6s is having this issue, here are some possible fixes or remedies you can try:

    1. Leave the iPhone in peace

It is advisable that you turn the screen off and let the iPhone finish whatever it’s doing after the update. If you haven’t updated your iPhone yet, choose a downtime when you don’t really need to use your phone such as after office hours or on a weekend.

    2. Hard Reboot your iPhone

This basically forces your iPhone to reboot by pressing the home + sleep/wake button simultaneously for 10 seconds. The Apple logo will appear and your iPhone should start normally. Any process that was stuck in the memory should have been flushed away. Some users who were experiencing warm iPhone were able to fix it after doing a hard reboot.

    3. Check Location Based Reminders

Users should also check their iPhone’s location based reminders and background refresh settings to make sure the iOS 9.3.1 update did not change these settings. If turned on, they may further increase battery draining.
