Q: Logic Board

Hi,

I am having problem with my 15' Macbook Pro. I bought in 2010. I paid a total of 2600$ that is included screen, hard drive, and memory upgrade. Since two months, the laptop restart twice by itself. I went to apple store yesterday and they told me that the logic board has to be replaced and we do not longer supply parts for this mac because it is 6 years old. I do not know what to do and i did not expect this to be happen. What should i do?

Hi Alyo8239:

Sorry about your Macbook Pro.
As Klaus1 has indicated it may be time for a new laptop.

If it is the data you are concerned about, one option is to remove the old hard drive and mount it in an external case.

I suggest that you install it in an enclosure OWC external case or using a USB to SATA adapter USB to SATA adapter and connect it to your MBP via USB.

Then from your new Mac you can use migration assistant from TimeMachine.
