The hourly Stand goal is achieved when you stand up and move around for at least one minute during that hour.
Apple Watch uses an accelerometer to identify movement, so a minute's walk around with your arms swinging naturally should help to register this.

It may help to restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first:
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Apr 7, 2016 10:49 AM in response to Mrsjmcdonby jd2020,I've had this problem too. First thing is, although t's called "stand" it's really "walk for more than a minute." You must walk enough to count., as Jonathan UK said, for at least a minute during the hour. If you just stand up, or Watch doesn't sense a minute worth of "walking" motion, then it won't count. I've sometimes thought I had walked around but perhaps not. Don't cut it too close: go for a short walk and see if that helps.
Occasionally, my Watch seemed to miss logging my stand activity for an hour during which i was certainly walking around. I'm not sure I've seen this since WatchOS 2.2 though.
