Q: safari randomnly opens apple website

I'm operating Safari 9.1 with OS X 10.11.4.  When using the Safari, it has begun randomly redirecting me to the Apple website.  I don't click on anything or move the mouse.  I'm just reading a website and the apple website suddenly loads on the page I'm viewing.  Is there a way to fix this?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Uninstall Sophos. It is a worthless scam. It offers no additional protection. All it does is cause problems on the Mac.

How often does this happen? How long would you have to test to be sure it had stopped?

Good comments so far . . . I'll add a couple questions for you.

    1.  How much Available free space is there on your HD?

Look at Disk Utility to find out Total space, and space available.

    2.  Also -- this app could cause sudden mess ups of your mouse/trackpad:

Thanks everyone for your assistance.  Uninstalling Sophos didn't have any effect on the problem.  However, uninstalling MacPrefs seems to have fixed it.  It's been several hours now with no redirects.
