Q: How do I get my Verizon FIOS account on my Apple TV

I just bought the 4th Generation Apple TV and apps that ran through my Verizon account won't open without setting them up through the iTunes Store.  Is there a way to input my cable provider so I can access what is normally free on my TV?

AppleTV 2, iOS 9.2

    Hello Fariso,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are not able to set up some third party apps with your ISP on your Apple TV. For information on how to set up and use these apps, you may need to contact support for each app that you expect to use your ISP login, but can’t.

Contact Apple TV content providers - Apple Support

    Cheers!

Each channel on your Verizon lineup is an independent business.  They spend money to produce shows then negotiate with advertisers to sell ads and negotiate with Verizon to get paid when Verizon broadcasts their channel.  Each channel develops their own app and builds in the restriction that you need to be paying Verizon (and them in effect) to watch their programs.  Since each channel is independent, they are not going to get together to coordinate logins.  It would be up to Verizon to create some master app that would replicate their bundling of channels to you and coordinate the login.
