Mar 2, 2016 2:24 AM in response to zoocelticby unlisted account,Same problem - I usually put off running apple updates because I often have problems. Finally broke down, and updated iTunes... with the usual results - something is broken. Have spent several hours troubleshooting this. iphone is not recognized in iTunes. I have followed all these steps:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support
And receive an error when I plug in my iphone.
I can fix this by going into device manager, uninstall driver, and scanning for hardware changes. I then get:
However, iTunes does NOT recognize my phone.
I then followed these steps: Re: My iphone is not showing up as a device in itunes when it is plugged into my computer, how do I fix this?
And installed the driver manually. ( 64 bit )
I now receive this error:
I have now uninstalled itunes ( and files ) 3 times, and tried multiple ways of addressing these issues. However I end up in one of two situations. Either I can install the drivers, and itunes won't recognize the device, or I end up with the error above. Any suggestions? Everything worked fine 2 days ago before I updated iTunes.

Mar 31, 2016 12:59 PM in response to JF Fourieby Freddob,Thank you! This helped me!
To add to this because my scenario was slightly different, I needed to open Device Manager > Portable Devices > Apple iPhone. I right-clicked Apple iPhone and install the drivers from this location: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
After they installed I need to "Allow" the device to be used and all is great now!
All the best - Fred

Apr 6, 2016 7:32 PM in response to JF Fourieby adamrsb48,This really helped. I tried all sorts of things, but this is the only thing that worked, so I really appreciate your fix to this problem. I'll admit, it took me a while to do it as I couldn't find all the files you said to go to, but I found them eventually, and I've gotten up and running once more.
Thank you very much for your help.

Apr 10, 2016 5:54 PM in response to JF Fourieby ArmywifeLB0204,Thank you my devices were connecting just fine and then with the most recent update ITunes stopped recognizing them. I spent half the day adding new songs only to not be able to transfer them to my phone because it wouldn't recognize my phone. I spent numerous hours trying to fix it and was on the phone with apple (waiting on hold) when I noticed this post. I tried it and it worked ITunes finally recognized my phone. Thank you!
