Apr 10, 2016 5:04 PM in response to ckuanby GrahamBen,Thanks Ckuan-
Wish to insert flash drive (or memory card) and read and show on Desktop
When I attach a flash drive (or Memory card from my Olympus camera) it does not read or appear on desk top.
Previous comments have said go to Finder/scroll to devices and will show USB but USB does not show.
Also go to Finder/Preferences and click on External discs. Does not work either
Thanks
Graham Ben

Apr 10, 2016 9:41 PM in response to GrahamBenby K Shaffer,Given the extensive item list to the left in System Information you can USB to see
any or all items integral to the computer from there. Some portables also show the
touch pad and other hardware (even bluetooth) has affiliation to USB.
You may be able to see a USB item plugged into the port, from within Disk Utility.
Did you try & see if an SMC reset (or NVRAM reset) may help the USB ports re-appear?
