Q: Apps installed via Configurator 2 are asking for apple ID and password when launched

After running 90 iPads through Configurator 2 all the apps are asking for the apple id and password to verify.  It's never done this before on the pervious version.  How do I stop this so the devices can be used in the class room without giving every teacher our corporate ID and password?

iPad, iOS 9.0.2, null

I had a similar problem when I updated to Configurator 2.  I resolved the issue by "purchasing" all the apps through the Volume Purchase Program which then allowed Configurator 2 to install them without requiring an Apple ID each time.  This applies to free apps as well as paid apps.  Just be sure in Configurator 2 you are signed in using the proper VPP account in the STORE tab.

Configurator 2 then assigns licenses of each app (even the free ones) to each iPad.  Be sure to "buy" enough licenses of the free apps to cover your fleet of iPads.

    I hope this helps.

Well, same problem here, with 173 iPads. I registered for the VPP and it works fine. BUT: All iPads are managed by Sophos Mobile Control 5 as MDM and when I push an app from Sophos to the iPads OTA, these apps ask for an apple-ID like it was with AC2 without VPP. I linked my VPP-Account to Sophos and I can see my VPP-licenses there.

    Cheers

I'm not familiar with Sophos but I was having the same issue with AC2 and Meraki - until I discovered that newly-added-to-Meraki VPP apps weren't prompting, only ones that had been added prior to the Meraki updates related to device-based assignment. I checked each app and it turned out that the older VPP apps were set to user-based assignment (in Meraki) and I had to change the drop-down (for each individual app, which was a pain) to set them to device-based assignment. After that, the VPP apps were pushed by Meraki without getting prompted for an Apple ID on the device.

    Hope this helps,

I'm trying to setup a Blue print, which limits a Group of iPad,so the user can't install Apps them selv, but only use those that have been deployed with VPP account.

    Anyone have similar setup?

If so, what restriction do you use on Apps installation?
