Q: Megasafe adapter problems
I have problems with Mega safe "T" power adapter on my 2008 Black Macbook. I have found this page on Apple's web site Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters - Apple Support at the bottom of the page it says :

Whether or not your product is in or out of warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary. Pending the results of the evaluation, you may or may not be eligible for a replacement adapter free of charge. Signs of accidental damage would negate any coverage. Be sure to bring in the computer used with the adapter; it is required to process potential adapter replacements.
I live in ITALY and have spoken to tech support over here and they told me (actually to my girlfriend) that they do not do the replacements for the reasons she didn't understand and can't explain to me ( I don't speak Italian so she had to speak with them)
I tried all suggested tricks to clean it, no luck, my adapter doesn't show any signs of damage. I see that that page was Last Modified: Aug 10, 2015, so I don't see the reason that information is not valid.
