Q: What are possible issues preventing me from connecting my Macbook to Apple TV so I can mirror my display?

Just bought an Apple TV for my wife and I'm trying to connect her MBP so she can mirror her display over AirPlay. I keep getting an error message that simply says that [the MBP] cannot connect to AppleTV. Firewall is off.

 

Help is appreciated.

If on wifI try connecting ATV via Ethernet

Make sure no other activity is occuring (other streaming, web browsing, network backups etc)

Test on another network
