I understand that you are wanting to know when your photos are done uploaded to iCloud. That is something that you can verify at iCloud.com with your photo on your PC. Take a look at the user guide below for more details on using iCloud for Windows and iCloud Photo Library.

thanks for your reply. I'd like to avoid checking the photos manually on iCloud. I would like to upload >200GB to avoid having them on any harddrive.
Is it possible to upload the photos using a MBA and having some kind of log? I mean a way to that if all uploads were successful? I still have my MBA from Oct. 2010 but don't use it anymore:)

If you are on a Mac, you can check the progress in the Photos app. Just go to the drop down menu Photos > Preferences and then click on iCloud. Underneath the iCloud Photo Library option, you will see a status option on when the last time your iCloud Photo Library was updated or what the current status on uploading changes. Take a look at the image below for more details.
