Q: Unable to Reset iPad to Factory Settings

I started a new job and was given an iPad Air to use for work. It was used by a previous employee who is unavailable to remove this unit from his account. How can I wipe this iPad clean so I can re-register it in order to use it for my job? This doesn't seem to be addressed anywhere. Thank you.

This shouldn't be your problem but your employers.  I'd say that the prior employee has enabled activation lock.

    What have you tried?

You either need to get in contact with the prior employee to get the password & id or find the original sales slip and take it to the nearest apple store.  Contact the apple store to ask what verification you will need.

    This is an anti-theft measure.
