Apr 12, 2016 10:30 PM in response to yyendysby Courcoul,When you start it up the first time, you will reach a point in Setup Assistant where it offers to migrate your stuff from a previous computer. If your Mac can take it and you can buy or borrow a Thunderbolt cable, that is the fastest and safest way to move your stuff over. The end result will be an identical copy, except for the OS X version (it will come with El Capitan, unless you dally too long and the next flavor comes out, usually in the fall). I moved ~400GB from a Late 2011 to an Mid 2015 MBP in under 2 hours.

If you don't use the feature in Setup Assistant and do it later with Migration Assistant, just make sure the administrator account you define in the new Mac does not match any of those in the old one, so you won't have issues when you migrate.
