Which version of Affinity Photos do you have? And which version of MacOs X?

The Affinity extensions are provided by the newest version of Affinity Photos, and you need at least MacOS X 10.11 el Capitan, to be able to use photo editing extensions.

After you update Affinity, run it as least once as a stand alone application to get the extensions installed.

It should look like this in then System preferences, after you have extensions installed:

    My Affinity version is 1.4.1.

    have you run the package?

Photo Editing Extensions for Photos for Mac

when you open a photo for editing and click on extensions in the edit selection ist on the right do you see it?

and of course the External editors   extension will let you run any external editor

    • External Editors:  This app extension will open any external image editor you have installed directly from Photos, and thus will give you access to the full functionality of your image editors, nit just the tools provided as app extensions. It is the doorway to Photoshop, Pixelmator, Gimp, whatever you have installed.

and again Have you run the external editors program yet?

To use the photo editing extension, install the apps, launch them once, then enable the extensions in the System preferences > Extensions.   Relaunch Photos, and you can now use the extensions from the Edit panel in Photos.

But have you run the application yet?

Go to your applications folder in teh finder and double click on teh external editors for Photos application to run it - then check in Photos and the system preferences

and again Have you run the external editors program yet?

To use the photo editing extension, install the apps, launch them once, then enable the extensions in the System preferences > Extensions.   Relaunch Photos, and you can now use the extensions from the Edit panel in Photos.

If you have done all Larry suggested, and the extensions still will not show, try to register the extensions manually by running the lsregister command as described in this document:

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203129

The Terminal command that needs to be entered is very long and goes on one single line.  Be sure to scroll the textfield all the way to the right to see and copy and paste all of it.

The photos dating extensions have been activated by the upgrade to El Capitan.   If all fails and the extensions are still disabled, reinstall El Capitan using the Combo Update:   OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 Combo Update.

Just make a  current backup of your Mac, then download the Combo Updater and run it.

Does your Affinity version contain the extensions at all?

When I ctrl-click the Affinity Photo applications and select Show Package Contents, I can see the extensions installed.  In the window that will open click the folder Contents, then "Plug-ins".

You should be seeing six extensions in the Affinity application bundle.

Ok - but for the fourth time have you run the external editors for Photos application in teh applications folder from the finder and the same for the affinity application?

in spite of being ask three times previously You have not specially confirmed that and if you have not it fully explains all of the symptoms you are seeing

Please confirm that you have gone to the applications folder and run each application from there and if you have not please go to the applications folder and double click on each to run the application
