I have just downloaded El Kapitan to my IMac, everything seems to be working ok apart from my Adobe CS5 Indesign suite, I have tried opening an exsisting document & creating a new document but as soon as the document opens it crashes, I have also tried re downloading the software using the Safari software
as Google Chrome keeps sending an error message on download, some thing to do with its failure to download the complete plugin.
Does anyone have suggestions for a fix.

did you check with Adobe support site to see if CS5 is ElCapitan compatible? They also have user support discussions.
You can browse the Utilities/console logs to see if any of them flesh out the error message.

Apr 13, 2016 6:04 PM in response to Blackberryjack21by tim heitzman,Have you tried uninstalling InDesign, then reinstalling from Adobe or from disk? Also be sure your fonts are all installed properly for the documents....if the default font for InDesign is not loaded it may crash.

I did a web search on this, and there is a thread at the Adobe forums that suggests a soution that's worked for some, which is to turn off Auto Hide Menus in the General preferences in OS X: InDesign crashes at startup
