Q: iPad shuts down, just as new loads/articles/messages/sites begin to open & display

For several weeks now, while engaged on our home wifi network, one of our Model A1395 i-Pads began abruptly shutting down, just as a new file/article/attachment began to display!  More recently, this has been happening with rapidly increasing & frustrating frequency!!  It also typically slows the re-start process.

A second iPad only occasionally experiences this phenomenon... at least to this point.  We have avoided the new operating system, due to the access and instability issues being experienced by so many... so that's not to blame for this painful plot!

New to the community, I'm not even sure that I'm posting this correctly... but any help/insight much appreciated.

    Hi arniefromsac,

    Allen, appreciate your response!

Just one point of clarification before embarking on the adventure of the new iOS 9.3.1 as your attached article suggests:  our iPads are not totally shutting down and displaying the Apple -- rather, the screen turns black (more dark grey actually) for 10-20-30 seconds, before returning to the 'Home Page' with all of the App Icons displayed.  Clicking Safari typically then opens fairly quickly... usually returning to the previous page from which we tried unsuccessfully to open a new item of interest.

Does this difference impact your recommendation/process suggested in your attached article at all?

As previously indicated, we have purposefully avoided downloading and installing the 9.3 iOS -- even with the most recent 'bug fixes', because of continuing user issues.  But if it's part of a valid path to recovering stable WiFi service and connectivity for our iPads, then we'll embark on that journey... even if it's fraught with a few 'pot holes'!

Otherwise, our two iPads are quickly becoming useless!!

Thanks for your counsel and clarification.
