Apr 14, 2016 12:21 PM in response to birder123by Carolyn Samit,If you havethe latest Xfinity cable box available, it has Wi-Fi built in but you can connect an AirPort Extreme for fasters speeds and better security > http://www.apple.com/airport-extreme/
That gives you two Wi-Fi networks. If for some reason your AirPort needs restarting and you need to go to the web for help, you can use the Xfinity Wi-Fi network as a backup.
Works great for me.

Apr 14, 2016 12:23 PM in response to birder123by KiltedTim,Ask Comcast what modem you should get. An AirPort Extreme will work fine as a router, but it is not a cable modem.

Apr 14, 2016 5:03 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby birder123,you mean if I get the latest cable box from comcast my problem goes away and they did not tell me - surprise.
I will try and get the box and then add the apple device after i get the first one working - that could be years at their speed.
