Q: bluetooth disappeared
I have an iMac 24" early 2009 model. I have been having some reception problems with my Magic Trackpad 2, which I bought when it came out. I also put a Bluetooth 4.0 dongle from Logitech on my stereo, and now I can stream my sound from anything that plays sound, just by pairing with it.
My Magic Trackpad 2 stopped working. Must need a recharge. I plugged it in and left for work. When I got back, Bluetooth was not turned on. The menu icon says it's not available. I looked on the Apple site, and it recommended a reboot. I did so. Now the Bluetooth icon is in the menu bar-- still unavailable -- but when I opened System Preferences, there's no Bluetooth icon available. What should I do? Can Bluetooth burn out?

Reset the SMC (I am assuming the computer has built-in Bluetooth).
I know nothing about the dongle or how it would be displayed.
To my knowledge, Bluetooth cannot "burn out."
