Q: Unable to use the text forwarding functionality

I have recently updated my iPhone software to iOS 9.3.1 and am now unable to have my text messages forwarded to my computers.

I have the iPhone 6 (2014). I used to be able to have my text messages forwarded to both my MacBook Pro (2013 - using Yosemite) and my iMac (2015 - also using Yosemite) but am now unable to. In fact, my Text Message Forwarding option has just completely disappeared from my phone despite being logged onto my Apple ID.

Under Settings > Messages I can only find:

- iMessage (which is turned on)

- Show Contact Photos

- Send Read Receipts

- Send as SMS (turned on)

- Send & Receive (my Apple ID is logged onto it as well)

etc.

But I can't find the Text Message Forwarding option that I used to have. Until I updated my software, I used text messaging and it worked fine.

I tried resetting my iPhone on more than one occasion but it did not do anything.

Thank you for your help!

Unfortunately I tried that and while all of my devices are logged on my Apple ID e-mail and that it is checked in my Send & Receive addresses on my phone, I still do not have the Text Message Forwarding option that shows up on my phone. I restarted my iPhone once more but still nothing.

1 option comes to mind at the moment

(i still have to have my 2nd cup of coffee so more may follow )

Back up your device to iTunes

    Then restore as new

    See if the problem resolves

If it does - restore backup
