Sorry, I was traveling and did not see your question earlier.

Only Aperture 3.6 will run on el Capitan without problems.  aperture 3.4.5 is only supported on Mt. Lion.

As you probably noticed, the icon is crossed out in El Capitan, and you cannot even drag the patched version into your applications folder, because The system integrity protection prevents you from adding modified applications.

I installed the patched Aperture 3.4.5 in a separate Applications folder in my Home folder.

To launch it, I open the package and run the embedded binary directly.

Ctrl-click the Aperture 3.4.5 application, then select Show Package Contents.

In the folder that will open, click the folder "Contents", then "MacOS".

Hold down the options key to launch Aperture in the Library Chooser Panel and then double click the executable "Aperture".

When prompted, enter your serial number.

I just encountered a new problem with Aperture.  What I wrote above used to work on Yosemite and El Capitan, but since the last update MAcOS X 10.11.4, Aperture 3.4.5 does not accept any of the two serial numbers I own any longer.

I hope you are more lucky.
