Q: photo stream failed between iPhone and iMac Photos

I have tried several ways I found on this forum but none of them worked for me, so I guess I have to look for some help more specific for my situation.

I have an iMac running El Capitan 10.11.4/Photos 1.5, an iPhone running iOS 9.3.1, and an iPad 2 also running iOS 9.3.1.

The photo I took by my iPhone and iPad can be streamed between each other without delay, but can not be streamed to my iMac Photos.

I have tried

1- turn off My Photo Stream in Photos then turn back on

2- turn off iCloud photo sharing in Photos then turn back on

3- quit Photos, then specifically force quit Photo Agent in Activity Monitor

4- rebuild Photos library

I have done 1.2.3 for several times and 4 for once. At first, there was no photo in My Photo Stream in iMac Photos, and now there is one photo took by my iPhone in My Photo Stream in iMac Photos. The very one photo is not the most recent nor the oldest photo I took by iPhone, just a random photo.

Also, I logged into iCloud Photos in Safari and found there was the welcome page in iCloud Photos, was it right? I have never logged into iCloud Photos before, but I suppose I should see some of my photos there, not just the welcome page?

Anyone know where the problem is?

Thanks

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), null

    Hi ahip,

I see that you are experieincing an issue with your Photo Stream between devices. I have some troubleshooting steps for you that should be able to help resolve this issue:

I don't see any photos in the My Photo Stream album in Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture

If you turned on iCloud Photo Library, your My Photo Stream photos from your other devices can be found in the All Photos album. If you didn't turn on iCloud Photo Library and you don't see any photos in the My Photo Stream album, follow these steps:

    1. Make sure your Mac has an active Internet connection. Without Internet, updates to My Photo Stream won't appear in Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture.
    2. From your Mac, choose System Preferences > iCloud. Make sure you use the same Apple ID as on your other supported devices.
    3. Open Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture. Then choose Preferences > iCloud (or Photo Stream).
    4. If you're using Photos, iPhoto 9.4 or later, or Aperture 3.4 or later: Make sure that My Photo Stream is selected. Then, if you want all future iPhoto or Aperture photo uploads to also upload to My Photo Stream, select Automatic Upload.
If you're using iPhoto 9.2.2 through 9.3.2, or Aperture 3.2.3 through 3.3.2: Select Enable Photo Stream and Automatic Import.

    Hi braden85

Thanks for your reply. I had checked the link you posted and tried the turn-off-turn-on-My-Photo-Stream thing for several times. It did not work. OK, in fact, after taking a look again, there was one step I did not do because I didn't get it.

    1. Make sure that My Photo Stream is on. If it’s already on, turn it off and tap Delete. Then, turn on My Photo Stream again.

I did not understand what "tap Delete" and didn't know how to do it.

    Hi again ahip,

It seems like that step doesn’t apply to you. If you had any pictures on your device, when deactivating Photo Stream, it would be prompting you to keep those pictures on the device or delete them and leave them on iCloud.
