I loaded El Capitan, now when I am using safri it works ok for a couple of minutes, and then pages freeze, especially if I go to a link from a page. Any ideas?

Have you tried to press remove adware and restart? You may try to navigate to all these folders and remove such files manually.

You should also try removing Sophos. It is crashing and is normally not required.

Hi thunderzzz, it does not say adware and restart on the Malwarebytes download, it says selected software. I click on this (where it says remove selected items). It then asks to restart after it has done so. (Nothing appears in trash). Then when I restart I scan again, and exactly the same items are on the list. I have tried four times now.

Lets try manually removing the items.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to the LaunchAgents folder and delete everything in the list below. Once that is done, while still in the Library, go to the Applications Support folder and delete those items. Finally, go to the Applications folder and delete the 3 things listed there. Restart and run Malwarebytes and Etrecheck again.
