Q: view shared devices side bar

I do not know when this happen. I was able to see all my shared devices on the sidebar of my Imac. El Capitan 10.11.4. I have 3 media servers on my network. When I go. connect to server I can connect, but once I log off they disappear. I do a lot of transferring data to the servers and it becomes tiresome. File sharing is turned on using SMB. Please assist.

Check Finder/Preferences/Sidebar to make sure shared items are checked.

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately that was the first thing I checked. They are all checked. I have a pc and I see all the devices. When I open my router all devices, including my iMac are there. Would you have any other ideas.
