Apr 17, 2016 3:22 PM in response to Madalaaaby redsoxgirl1982,I Am having the same darn issue. about a week ago my phone was at 43% and it shut off saying I needed battery charge, then when I put it on charge it said it was at 45%. On phone with Apple for an hr and guy uninstalled and reinstalled new software, that only lasted a week. Finally yesterday i was charging my phone and it was draining while on the charger and it shut off saying battery charging needed. It was ridiculous. Went to Apple Store and lady did a restore and that did help but then battery started up again. I have a 6S, and I am being sent another one on Tuesday. They keep trying to tell me it's me and I need to shut stuff off but everything they said to do was already done before they even told me. They said it's not my battery but yet won't admit it's the latest updates! Hopefully the new phone works!

Apr 17, 2016 6:17 PM in response to redsoxgirl1982by St8dawg,Mine shut off at 37 percent and wouldn't come back on untail I plugged it in. When I plugged it in it said 39%. My wife's phone has been locking up and I had to reset and restore. It is working so far. My battery was good last week and after the 9.3.1 upgrade I can't make it past 2:00 before having to plug in. i am not a heavy phone user and the battery still drains. I AM NOW THINKING ABOUT GOING BACK TO ANDROID. I changed to iphone to get away from things not working right. Now iphone ***** with this ios. THEY NEED TO CHANGE IT SOON!

Apr 18, 2016 2:04 AM in response to Madalaaaby nido555,Yes sure i have the same issue as seen across the board on this discussion after updating to ios 9.3.1. Following problems has been identified as per my obs
1. Overheating very quickly, which never happen to me before on ios
2. battery drains faster in approx 3 to 4 hours
3. Lock screen and home is suggested to use 15% of my past week battery consumption which is not normal.
4. No Solution available as yet from apple, waiting for latest update to resolve this issue.

Apr 18, 2016 4:23 AM in response to nido555by redsoxgirl1982,The reason why you haven't seen an update yet to fix this is because Apple won't admit it's a common issue. 3 techs told me issue wasn't common and last tech that said that, I told him I find that funny because I know a lot of people having the same issue and also 2 people next to me were at the Genius Bar for the same reason I was. I don't get how they think it's not common.

Apr 19, 2016 1:46 AM in response to Madalaaaby Paputacu,+1 for this post, iPhone become a piece of junk because of untested or faulty updates.
With 9.3 my 6S Plus had work excellent. With 9.3.1 i experienced dramatic battery drain. Overnight batt could drain anywhere between 20 and 40%. Sometimes battery usage look normal showing a background activity 1-20 min for 12 hrs of standby. Somentimes showing 4-5 hrs of back ground activity, for the same period of 12 hrs. No matter of time showed in background activity battery drain the same....
On service they tested the battery and is ok. So it must be the "revolutionary IOS 9.3.1"
I tried reset, hard reset, i delete all my app, i sign out form i cloud, restore with iTunes and restore from backup and set as new. All these on multiple times.
Now i have my set as new, and just logged to icloud for having my contacts on the phone. No app downloaded, no mail active, not signed everywhere but icloud account, just the phone and SIM card. And the battery still drain chaotic. From 88 to 70% in a blink of an eye. If i send SMS of 2 lines battery could drain 5% and so on.
I had all model of iPhone from 3GS but for me 6S Plus is the last iPhone buyed. I will try anthing else but no iPhone. Bye Apple.

Apr 19, 2016 3:54 AM in response to Paputacuby redsoxgirl1982,YES! THANK YOU! They had me do the same thing. The guy I was on the phone with for an hr had me backup my phone and I did, and then he uninstalled the software and installed brand new software and had me restore my phone from backup. Lasted about a week before doing it again, then it did it again saying my phone was at 65% and then it shut off saying no battery life then came back on saying 60%, this is ridiculous. I went to apple store and told them my issue so she did a restore and said don't restore as old iphone set up as new one, and the battery thing STILL DOES THE SAME THING! I have another 6S coming to me today so hopefully this works. Luckily verizon said that since im on device payment that in a few months if I am still unhappy I can switch to another phone if I want to. Not sure yet what I want to do, I don't want to use my early upgrade unless I really have to use it.
Funny thing was when my phone was being looked at guy next to me was having the same issues. Everyone I spoke to said its not a common enough issue to warrant a fix for it, but yet this page is always flooded with the same issue about battery drain after update and I have spoken to like 5 people who have the same issue I do.
They need to find a fix for this like yesterday.

Apr 19, 2016 4:32 AM in response to redsoxgirl1982by triciacastro,I'm not alone! I just came from an authorized Apple service center, and had my iPhone diagnosed. They also said there is no problem with the battery itself. They told me to delete the Spark app (3rd party mail client) because it's hogging the battery. I deleted, but I still experienced a shutdown at 37% today.
It's not the app, definitely. It's the OS. Please, Apple, listen to our cries!
Trust me: I restored twice. First time, from iTunes backup. Second time, from iCloud backup. Same old.

Apr 19, 2016 4:36 AM in response to thundhammrby thundhammr,I have taken the phone to the Apple Genius Bar (yeah right) and they said the update must not have installed correctly and totally restored my phone. I put all my contact info, apps, etc back on the phone only to find the battery still drains way too fast. Hey Apple it's the new upgrade killing our batteries, fix it or maybe a class action lawsuit is in order. I basically have a cell phone that does me no good now, thanks.

Apr 20, 2016 3:56 AM in response to Madalaaaby PerthMac,For all the good it does posting here, I will anyway.
I have an iPhone 6S and on 9.3 the phone would turn off with it displaying 20% battery remaining. Reading about how 9.3.1 fixed this issue, I upgraded at the first opportunity. For my trouble I now have a shiny 6S which turns off at 40% battery remaining being displayed (under certain circumstances). The circumstance for me in all cases of it turning off [very] early was running Maps (Google, Apple, doesn't matter which). So I was travelling somewhere I hadn't been before, didn't know how to get there and phone turns off with 40% left displayed. Needless to say I was raging slightly. Oh and yes when you do plug it in, it miraculously says it's back to 40% instantly.
So yeah, iOS 9.3.1 has worse battery issues than previous versions. But I'm sure we're all doing something wrong, hey Apple?

Apr 20, 2016 10:58 AM in response to Madalaaaby Zacharypangle,MY iPhone 6 64gb randomly dies at 40% since the update. Took it to the Apple Store they said nothing was wrong. I'm furious.

Apr 20, 2016 12:37 PM in response to Zacharypangleby redsoxgirl1982,That's EXACTLY what they told me on the phone and in the store. Mine did the same thing and they also said it wasn't a common issue. So I told them ah but it is a common issue because your support form on your website has a lot of people with the same issue I am having. I mean they need to fix this because if not then they will have a lot of frustrated customers.
