Q: INSTALL_ERROR_DISTRIBUTION_SIGNED_BY_APPLE when trying to buy anything

Hello everyone,

I ran into the INSTALL_ERROR_DISTRIBUTION_SIGNED_BY_APPLE problem today. I solved it by choosing "best try" for OCSP and CRL in the certificate tab of the preferences dialog of keychain access - it was set to "needed, if the certificate demands it" (or something similar - I am using the German localization).

It may be that I had changed this setting some years ago and that this setting was still there after updating to 10.6. But I am not sure if the new setting (best try) is secure - so would please anyone who can use the MAS successfully check what setting he/she has in the above mentioned dialog?

OKay, so here's what ended up working for me: I went into the Ap Store and looked in my 'Purchased' history. It allowed me to reinstall the system I was currently running: for me it was Mavericks. After reinstalling the system it allowed me to upgrade to El Capitan. All is well and it's working.

I have been having this problem for awhile and still have no clue how to solve it.
I've tried Dirk's suggestion, changed my CA, upgraded my system and still nothing has worked.
This issue is getting rather frustrating.

Are there any other ideas I should try?
