Q: I turned off iMessage on iPad but they are still landing

I turned off iMessage on my iPad but messages are still landing. I only want to receive them on my phone, where they are also landing

iPad Air, iOS 8

If your iPhone and iPad are connected via Continuity - disconnect them

Use Continuity to connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac - Apple Support

It is the means whereby the iPad and iPhone can be connected as long as they are on the same wifi
