Q: Ethernet networking in Yosemite
After performing a clean installation of Yosemite 10.10.5 on my Mac Mini late 2012 via the OS X Recovery facility (after having Mountain Lion operating and also reformatting the HD), I find that the default networking preference seems to be Wi-Fi. When trying to set up networking to use Ethernet I find that after the Mac wakes up from sleep mode the Ethernet settings are lost and the system cannot then connect to the internet and when trying to resolve the network settings using the Network Assistant it tends to keep going back to using the Wi-Fi settings.
I find this tendency frustrating as my Wi-Fi connection to the internet is slower than Ethernet and I would prefer Ethernet.
For a MacBook I can understand this preference for Wi-Fi but not for a desktop system, can anyone help me to overcome this problem?
