Q: can't print from macbook air (2012) to epson wf2540, although do so from iPad mini

I can't print wirelessly from 2012 Macbook Air to Epson WF2540, although can do so from iPad Mini. Epson and my internet provider couldn't help. It did work at an earlier date. Any suggestions?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    Hi tjr31119,

    Welcome to the Support Communities!  I understand you were able to print wirelessly from your MacBook Air to your Epson WF-2540 in the past, but not currently.  Can you think of anything that has changed?  Your profile indicates you are running OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2).  Is that accurate?

    I checked our compatible printers document to see if the Epson WF2540 is listed.

    Printer and scanner software available for download for your Mac

    EPSON WF-2540 Series9.04PSF
    P = Print    S = Scan   F = Fax

    Since it is listed, you shouldn't need to install the Epson software.  Try these steps:

    1. Uninstall the Epson software
    2. Delete the Printer
    3. Turn the printer and the computer off.
    4. Restart the printer.
    5. Restart the computer.
    6. Reinstall the printer with a USB cable using the software on the Mac.
    7. If the printer works with the USB cable, now try setting up the wireless again.  But first, restart your modem and your printer to re-establish a connection to your wireless network.

    If the issue persists, reset the printing system on your Mac.

    Hope that helps ...
