Q: Mail Drop Question
I have a friend who is concerned about the amount of data that would be used in downloading a video I sent via Mail drop. Does downloading the file use up vast amounts of monthly data allowance?

I understand now that you explained it further. If the recipient downloads the file to his device, it will use data, either Wi-Fi or cellular/mobile. If the file he downloads is 1 GB then he will use that much data. If he downloads over Wi-Fi it will not use cellular/mobile data. One option might be to find a public Wi-Fi and attempt to download that way but many public Wi-Fis limit downloads for obvious reasons. Don't know how large your file is but as an example Netflix uses about 1 GB of data per hour for each stream of standard definition video, and up to 3 GBs per hour for each stream of HD video.
