Q: I have a concern about Megabackup.....

Hello people!

When i tried to download a program,

this god dang Megabackup program was also autometically installed.

i accidently cliked backup button , and it seems that they made my account autometically as well.

it seems they backed up my file to there server ?

Here, do i need to worry about data leakage Of my personal data?

I called and told them to delete my account and stuff, but i am still kinda worried

if they steal my personal data such as filea, pictures, videos and stuff.

can anyone please answer this for me ?

where did you DL the program?

    what program did your DL?

if an installer for one program is asking you install another program you might like I'd be suspicious and not use that program.

Unfortunately this practice is becoming commonplace with  many DL hosting cites, and the recourse is to not use those sites or support software that is being exploited.

    to delete Magabackup

Force Quit the application (or quit in Activity Monitor) and discard the applications icon/folder into the trash

(usually components can be found in Macintosh HD/Applications or Macintosh HD/User/[your account]/Applications

Next check your user startup items for any launch assistants:

    go to >System Preferences>Users & Groups

    select your account

click on the login items tab

select and delete any "megabackup" components using the "-" icon if they are found.

    next go to Macintosh HD/Library/Startupitems
remove any "megabackup" components that may be in the folder
