Q: Safe way to rename mac with devices in profile manager?

Hey,

I need to rename my server so that that it can be accessed externally. Currently it is device.internal.FQDN but I want to change it to MGMT.domainname.com

Point is that I have over 150 devices connected and after changing the name no settings are being pushed successfully. I am going to change the domain back tomorrow, hoping to get the state back to how it was but if you guys could instruct me on how to make the change safely that would be great.

"Error message" :

Push settings: Username@devicename

x of y in progress

Target : device

settings: setting name

Status: pending

And that's all I get. For reference a printer push has been in progress since the 18th.

OSX: 10.11.3

Server version: newest (I'll update this info tomorrow when I am on site)

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), null

Ok it doesn't seem possible, I never found any information on how to do it before or after.

I assume that the certificate has been regenerated. So old clients still can't connect to the MDM server. Thankfully I just restored from a backup and staff experienced very little downtime.
