Q: Can Smart Keyboard be sanitised/washed?

As I travel very frequently, having a bluetooth keyboard alongside my iPad seems very important. However, the airplane trays and other surfaces are SO dirty. Can the new iPad Smart Keyboard be sanitised in a way? Either by passing some sanitising wipes or even washing it? It would be great to know! Many thanks!

Anythng cloth with bleach or alcohol is not wise to use.

You might be able to get away with using a microfber cloth that is dampened with some mld dish soap and REALLY wrung out so the cloth is damp with just a little soap left in it to do some cleaning.

But that is all I would recommend.

    Good Luck!

Perhaps you could carry some type of cloth (or plastic) that you could place on the tray. A vinyl placemat cut down to airplane tray size might work. You could then sanitize the placemat as much as you wanted and not risk your expensive keyboard. I tend to carry cloth napkins with me for a variety of reasons (I bring my own food on airplanes). If you're not terribly germaphobic, they would work, too.

The small tray size plastic/vinyl/rubber placemat is a real good idea!

    Never thought of that.

    Good Idea!

I pack my lunch. I've gotten clever with making it "nice".

I would suggest using some tech wipes. i use it on my macbook pro (while its on, on keyboard screen), external monitor, iPad, and have had no problems at all.

    Hi,

i'm also traveling intensively... with iPad and MacBook Pro 15', for me the best solution was on purchasing neoprene protective pockets, so i can put them on the airport trays at the customs inspections and use it as a surface under the devices when on the plane tray tables.

hope you'll find it convenient too.
