Q: iPhone 6 Plus unresponsive

iPhone 6 Plus started flickering which it did for awhile, but now it is completely unresponsive. Took it to a repair shop who charged $150 and couldn't fix it. Took it to Sprint who reset it, which we already did and knew it wouldn't work. Now Touch ID also doesn't work. Sprint said to take to Apple. Apple STORE MANAGER said "This is a well known issue and we have people coming in all day long with this problem. It's the logic board. $329 to fix (because the phone is 18 months old)." He said their "focus is to get people back in with the new SE that has the same problem. [They] want to get the new ones fixed and not worry about the old ones." He said repair shops can't fix because Apple doesn't provide the logic board to them. The phone was never dropped. Known hardware problem? Sounds like a recall should be initiated. It is not our fault the phone does not work. We should not have to pay to fix it. Sure, it's 18 months old. So? It's still Apple's fault. Sprint said it's $210 to turn in a non-working phone at the end of our contract. Well, that's cheaper than fixing it but now have a non-working phone for 6 months? Apple needs to fix this problem.

You didn't mention any troubleshooting of your own that hasn't worked.

If you haven't restored your iPhone to factory settings yet, try that  > Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup

    It's certainly worth a try.

Not sure why your reply says "Correct Answer" when it's not. We have reset, restored, taken it to a repair shop, taken it to Sprint, taken it to Apple, and then back to Sprint. Everyone says it's a hardware problem. As in my original post, Apple Store Manager specifically said it is a known issue with the logic board. If it's a defect, Apple needs to fix it. Especially when they are telling people it's well known and people come in all day with the problem.

YES!!  2 nights ago I thought I became a ghost because my 6+ became unresponsive to all screen touch interaction.  It would randomly recognize a 4 or a 6 input on the unlock screen, nothing consistent.  I used an iTunes restore to backup and restore to factory, no joy.  Phone tech support said likely hardware.  In Apple Store a tech immediately recognized, used in landscape mode applying an ungodly amount of pressure, I think bending the phone with the front convex and the rear concave, which made phone normally responsive.  This was my second 6+, the first broken and totally my fault screen shattered in a million tiny pieces, but no other problems after 14 months' use.  Now at the 5 month mark and past the 90 day warranty, gee sorry mister, your only solution is a phone replacement, or a third and fourth arm to operate said phone while arms 1 and 2 bend the phone forcing the hardware into contact with the screen.

Tat the tech knew what was wrong and how to fix it (see ungodly pressure bending phone convex in landscape orientation) makes me think training, coverup, and class action lawsuit.

mendonipadrehab has again failed to disclose that they have a vested interest in steering people toward using unauthorized, repair services. They also failed to mention that doing so will permanently forfeit all rights to service on the device by Apple including discounted out of warranty replacement.

Read the post. OP has already been to Apple and did not get a solution to the problem.

That's irrelevant. The OP was offered an out of warranty replacement. They opted not to take it at that time. If they want help from a 3rd party, they need to look somewhere else. The iPhone is not user serviceable and there are no authorized service providers that will do the work you propose.

The OP also needs to be aware that by opting for unauthorized service, they will permanently forfeit their right to have the device serviced by Apple. Ever.

They also need to be aware that there are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts available to unauthorized service providers. The only parts available are stolen parts, counterfeit parts and salvaged parts.

You have a vested interest in steering people to unauthorized 3rd party service providers which you continue to fail to disclose in your posts.

And what you fail to acknowledge that this is a known issue that Apple is refusing to deal with. I am on my second device after dealing with this issue, exactly 1 year apart. The first time they replaced the device after admitting it was a known issue. I just finished speaking to support and was told it would be $300 for repair. Apple is making me pay $300 to repair a faulty device they knowingly sold to me. How is this acceptable?

If a third party can do it cheaper than Apple, AND Apple refuses to do right by their customers, then those customers should be made aware of their options.
