Q: Problems adding apps to my iPhone 4.

I've tried using both the Apple store and iTunes to add Hulu and Netflix to my iPhone 4. Both give me errors like "it requires a newer version of iphone software" which we know is not possible. It's running iOS 7.1.2, which is the most up to date software for this phone. What now? Am I being forced to buy a new phone even though this one works just fine?

For those apps you may well have no choice. Some apps allow compatible versions to be downloaded. Try the steps here:
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support

*If* you are being *forced* to buy a new phone in order to use Hulu and/or Netflix, it would be by Hulu and/or Netflix, not Apple.
