Q: I restored my iPhone 4 and now I can't download the Podcasts app

I restored my iPhone 4 yesterday and now I can't download the Apple Podcasts app. I just get the following message "You cannot restore Podcasts on this device. You may already have this app. If not, it can only be restored on an iPhone with iOS 9.3 or later". What to do?

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2

I did the same thing - I have an old iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.2 (highest version allowed) that I reset to factory settings to turn into a wifi-only iTouch for my kids. I want to sync some podcasts, but iTunes tells me that I have to have the Podcasts app to do that and go get it from the App Store. Using the desktop computer to get it, it tells me that you have to download the Podcasts app directly from the phone itself. But when I try to search in the App Store for the "Podcasts" app, it doesn't show up, no matter how I search for it! The compatibility listing says it requires iOS 7.1 or higher, so I don't understand why I'm not seeing it available.

Hey the exact same thing happened to me, the podcasts app doesn't show up in the app store, and there doesn't seem to be another way to get it. I would really like to find a solution to this issue.

So I finally figured out a solution to this, mostly by accident. If you search for a different app created by Apple for the iPhone such as iBooks, then click on the app developer name at the top, "Apple >" and it will show you the other apps created by that same developer. I scroll down and found "Podcasts" that way. I have no idea though why it is not showing up as one of the top listings in the App Store!!
