Q: imac g5 problem

Hi,

A imac g5 running 10.3.9 was donated to my office (we're a non profit) and it's acting funny. First Safari won't load anything and adds a %20% to any address I put in the web browser, if it can even find the DNS. I've tried putting in just the ip address, but no luck, still can't find it.

I don't have 10.3.9 start up discs, tried my 10.4 and an error screen comes up and wants a restart when the disc is in. Restart does nothing.

I tried to erase it from the disk utility but the erase buttons are greyed out and I can't do that.

Help.

A G5 iMac can run OS X 10.5.8 but that's the most recent version it can run. You'll need to find a retail 10.5 installer disc from somewhere like eBay then download and run the combo updater to get to 10.5.8 Download Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update Safari may still not work well but I think you can run Firefox.
