Q: How do I remove photos to another device to free up storage on iPad?

    Hello,

My question is regarding my photos and ICloud. How can I remove and store photos to free storage on my Apple IPad Air , updated 2 days ago?

Thank you,

Pattie

If you have iCloud Photo Library turned on, any photos you delete from the phone will also be deleted from iCloud and from any other devices connected to that iCloud Photo Library. The most you can do to reduce the storage space required on the phone is to turn on Settings > iCloud > Photos > Optimize iPhone Storage.

Apple does not currently offer any cloud-only storage options. You can suggest that more options be offered via http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html

You can backup your photos to a service like Dropbox. After saving them there you can delete them from your iPad. Dropbox has an auto upload feature which will automatically upload photos taken in Camera to Dropbox.

As has been stated by FoxFirth iCloud is not a backup medium.
