Apr 24, 2016 11:10 AM in response to stephany@Jaxby theratter,You should find the migrated library in your Pictures folder. It has been renamed. Photos only migrates the data. If you want to continue using the iPhotos.library, then you need the last version of iPhotos:

Re: Is Iphoto gone ? i want it back!
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Apr 24, 2016 11:16 AM in response to stephany@Jaxby LarryHN,You give no information to let anyone help you - we can not see you so you have to provide details, not just a problem
Given that removing duplicates was the cause per your post the only guess is that that was the cause
Maybe if you told us exactly what you did and step by step how you did it we could figure it out - probably the best solution is to restore your backup from before you removed duplicates and star again from there
PhotoSweeper for Photos should be a safe way to identify duplicates if used correctly
PowerPhotos and Duplicate Annihilator for Photos are two others
And if you are using Photos you do not need your iPhoto library (although it is recommended that you keep it)

Apr 24, 2016 11:26 AM in response to LarryHNby stephany@Jax,I updated to El Capitan and manually migrated my iphoto library into Photos. Upon performing Photosweeper, only two of the two Photos libraries exist now under photos - a mere fraction of my total photos. I imported three libraries into the Photosweeper Media Player: 1) Photos Library 1 2) Photos library 2 and 3) Iphotos library. I analyzed all 10,000+ photo to cleanse one by one and spent hours.
I have done a Restore in Photos to no success.
I have tried opening the Iphoto library under Finder using Photos and it says cannot open migrated library.
I have tried to re-load Iphoto under my purchased apps.
I have checked the Photosweeper Trash in Photos.
I have checked the system Trash.
It's as if they are stuck in Photosweeper.

Apr 24, 2016 11:34 AM in response to theratterby stephany@Jax,You an no longer get Iphoto app. I even tried to re-load from my purchased apps.
I see my Iphoto migrated library under Pictures, however when I try to move to Photos it says I cannot open due to them already migrated to Photos, however they no longer exist in Photos.

Apr 24, 2016 11:41 AM in response to stephany@Jaxby LarryHN,Be sure you have a good backup and change the extension of the old iPhoto library back to .photolibrary and drag it to the Photos icon in te Dock to migrate it again

Apr 24, 2016 11:42 AM in response to stephany@Jaxby Terence Devlin,As this seems to originate with running this PhotoSweeper app, perhaps you should contact the makers of that for assistance.

Apr 24, 2016 12:02 PM in response to Terence Devlinby stephany@Jax,Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, their support could not help. They advised to check the trash and Use finder to locate the library and right click to open in Photos. Neither was helpful.
