From your question, I understand that you are unable to purchase content from iTunes because of an incorrect password error.
From you post, it sounds like this is happening on a computer. If this is correct, the first thing I would like you to do is check the Apple ID on the computer to make sure the correct one is signed in.
If the correct Apple ID is signed in, sign out of the iTunes Store and then back in fresh and try to make a purchase.
