Q: Can I set the time the lock screen remains on?

When I turn my iPhone (6S) on, the first thing I see is my lock screen.  It only stays on for a few seconds and then disappears.  If I am not fast enough swiping my finger to the right to get to my home screen, I have to re-activate my phone.  Is there any way I can set or adjust the amount of time the lock screen remains on?

I know how to set the auto-lock function which turns the iPhone off after a certain period of non-use.  This is different.  Adjusting the auto-lock has no effect on the amount of time the lock screen remains on.

How do I set the time for the lock screen to stay on?

I don't want to belabor this but, to my mind, there is a difference between powering on/off and re-activating a screen.  The latter implies leaving the phone on and merely bringing up another screen by whatever means is available.  Notice that when I replied to your question that, while I said "yes," in explaining I did not use the term "power the device back on and off again" as you did in your example but, rather, I used the term "re-activating" the phone and even defined it by referring to using the home button which re-activates the phone.

It is so easy to misunderstand communications on threads in forums - I do it all the time.
