Apr 11, 2016 10:21 PM in response to buddysatby GenericAppleUser,I have found a simple solution that seems to get me out of trouble.
When you're ready, close down all applications and then relaunch finder.
Once you relaunch finder it seems to shut down as per normal every time.
If I don't relaunch finder it just seems to mess up finder as every other app still functions
Hope this helps

Apr 24, 2016 11:04 AM in response to buddysatby Leon Ko,I found a solution to my shutdown problem. I have ProTools (ver. 12) installed on my MacPro with El Capitan. I dumped the Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin in the trash at first and later I had second thoughts about it and so I retrieved it and put it on the desktop. The computer since then shuts down and restarts without a hitch. So far so good. Hope that helps.

I believe this solved the issue as well. I had Pro Tool and removed it, removed some leftover Symantec extensions to no avail but this seemed to work. I have CleanmyMac2 running on it then and now with no problems. Thanks!!

CleanMyMac is garbage. It's one of the worst pieces of scamware out there. You need to uninstall it. Putting it on your computer is the equivalent of throwing it out a window onto a concrete parking lot. All you need to do is search these forums for CleanMyMac and other programs like it to find out just what our opinion of these so-called "maintenance" apps are.
Macs do not need ANY program that claims it will clean, boost, organize, optimize, refresh, etc. your computer.

May 20, 2016 7:02 AM in response to buddysatby Jarno1969,I have the same problem.
I have tried to disable the integration with finder, without success.
I have tried the SMC and PRAM reset and nothing works.
I have installed Onyx but nothing seems to work, I had to shut up the system with the back button.
I own an Imac 27" (final 2013)
Processor 3,2 core i5
Mac Os 10.11.5
I forgot to mention that I don't have the didi driver mentioned
Any help will be wellcome
Best regards

May 20, 2016 9:27 AM in response to buddysatby Gerfried Kumbartzki,Call it delayed shutdown. The shutdown intermittently takes forever and none of the solutions seems to resolve the problem.
My solution is to put the MacBookPro into sleep by closing the lid and voila after 5 or so minutes the system is shut down.
I have often an external disk with a light on and see when it shuts off. It is intermittently, and therefore it is very hard to find a fix.

May 27, 2016 2:07 AM in response to dialabrainby Sr. Brits,★HelpfulRemoving Wacom software from the "start up" apps on my user work!! =D Thanks!!
If someone doesn't know how to do that, here is how. Follow this instructions:
1. Open System preferences
2. Users & Groups
3. Click "Start Up Items"
4. Select Wacom related software and click the minus button (if your not able to select it, click the "lock" located in the left-down corner of the window to be able to make changes).
