Q: No Events Column in Day View of iCal in El Capitan

I just upgraded to El Capitan from Mavericks on  a late 2010 iMac with 12gigs of memory, i3 processor.

I sync my Google calendars. I no longer have the Events column in the calendar Day view that showed all of a day's events and upcoming events.

is there a way to bring that column back in the iCal preferences?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), 2010, i3 processor, 12 gigs of memo

Come on Apple. I asked this question three months ago.

Someone, please reply. This needs to be fixed before the next OS rollout.

This is a user forum. Apple doesn't routinely monitor these discussions. If you want to send apple feedback, use the link here. They will not answer, but will read your request:

The Events column is not longer available, which I would like back also. But if you type anything in the search field, a list of events with that criteria will appear.

Thank you for your reply Glenn.

Why won't they bring it back?

Thank you for the search field tip, however I need to see the week at a glance, and that events column did that.

Personally, I'm feeling that Apple is failing its users in many respects sadly.

I submitted to the feedback link.

    Thanks again.

Events do show up in the week view, but you have to select the week to want to view. Same with the day or month view.

If you show the Calendars list in the sidebar, you can click on the week view and quickly select the week you wish to view from the calendar list in the sidebar.

It's not quite the same as the old column view where the dates were listed for the events.

I upgraded to El Capitan strait from Mavericks.

In Mavericks, the Day view had a column on the left (not the right) that showed upcoming events for the week and beyond. I really relied on this on a daily basis. I prefer the Day view over the Month and Week views. I understand that the upcoming events column in the Day view went away with the Yosemite release.

Just saying that the upcoming events column was greatly valued, and not just by you nor me. Apple is out of touch and just no longer cares about how users interact with their products. It is a shame.

Thanks again for sharing your insight.

    You're Welcome

If enough people leave feedback on this, maybe they will bring it back.

    I have seen similar requests.

    We can dream.
