Q: How do I get Logix X to Save ONLY what is on my screen?

When I save a project I don't alwyas want to save previously recorded tracks from previous sessions that are no longer On my screen/project window. Is there a way to save in Logic X without saving all the files that are not on the screen/project window?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Thank You for your reply!

I tried this, however, when I do this "file-project management-clean up" it does not seem to erase all the audio files in the project container that I am not still using on the screen?

For example: The audio file I used to have in the old project was called 4_19_16.wav   I then came in a week later and replaced that file with a file called 4_26_16 and performed a "save as" to save the new project under a new name. Why will the old file 4_19_16 not go away from the new project container when I perform the "file-project management-clean up" procedure?

    Thanks again!

Logic will continue to save the files with the project. This allows you to use them later.

To delete the unused audio files, you need to go to project browser window. The browsers are on the right side of the screen - click on the small icon that looks like a camera with a musical note. When clicked, three tabs will appear beneath it - Project, Media and All Files. Select "Project." This will show all audio files used in the current project.

Near the top of the project browser, there are three drop down menus: Audio File, Edit and View.

Under that Edit menu, select "Select Unused." This will highlight audio files that are not currently used in the project.

Next, select "Delete" from that same menu. This will delete the unused files from the project.

Great! Thank You! I think that finally did it.

Now if I can figure out how to avoid this message from happening every time I open a Logic fileScreen Shot 2016-05-05 at 2.32.17 PM.pngogic file

Open that project, go to the Project Audio Browser, Select Unused and delete that selection

    Delete unused.gif

    ...and finally resave the project.
