Q: Playing an airplay speaker and the ipad speaker simultaneously

Is there a way to play music through airplay on a remote speaker AND play the same music through the iPad speaker simultaneously?

Thanks!

    Hello apanascfp,

I understand that you would like to have the audio play from both your iPad and a speaker that you are connecting to AirPlay. I can go over that with you.

With AirPlay, the audio will only play at the destination selected in the AirPlay menu in Control Center. Take a look at the article below to walk you through how to setup and use AirPlay on your iPad.

I know that you would still like to hear audio from your iPad and the speaker, but you do have some alternatives to play audio to multiple speakers.

For example, you can use the Beats Pill+ and that speaker can be paired with another Beats Pill+ model. The pairing will happen over Bluetooth but you can space the speakers out within a good range to get this playing in different rooms potentially.

The same goes for the UE BOOM 2 Wireless speaker. If you have 2 of them, you can have that same effect of playing a song on 2 speakers and spread them out. For more details on those products, take a look at the links below for more details.

The short answer is YES.  I had asked a similar question here and I have found the best solution to be something called audio|acacia by a group called Plethra.

audio|acacia lets you play music from your iTunes / iPhone / iPad / iPod / Android Device / Internet Radio / etc. to any AirPlay device including your AirPort Express / Apple TV / iPhone / iPad / iPod / Computer / etc.  Not only can you play to all of them, but you can play to all of them and have them be in sync with each other.  You can also play one song to a group of speakers and a different song to another group of speakers at the same time.  It's pretty awesome.

It was hard for me to find, but I found what I was looking for.
